The Rewind Report: 2025 Recap, Highs, Lows & New Year Goals
Happy New Year, and welcome back to the Rewind Report.
In this episode, we’re recapping 2025 — our first full year being open as Rewind Aesthetics.
We wanted to talk about the highs, the lows, what we learned, the challenges we faced, and some of our goals moving into the new year.
Our First Year Open
The biggest highlight of 2025 was simple:
We made it through our first year.
For twelve straight months, we showed up every single day building Rewind together.
It was a huge accomplishment and honestly flew by faster than we expected.
Most days didn’t even feel like work because we built such an incredible team and developed amazing relationships with our clients.
Many of our clients truly became friends.
The atmosphere at Rewind often feels more like a neighborhood gathering place than a traditional med spa. Clients come in, spend time with us, hang out, and then another familiar face walks through the door.
We always joke that running Rewind feels a little bit like owning a really fun bar — except instead of serving cocktails, we’re serving neurotoxins and skincare treatments.
Learning Business From Scratch
One of the biggest surprises of opening Rewind was how much we had to learn outside of aesthetics.
Neither of us came from business backgrounds. We came from healthcare, nursing, ICU, and anesthesia.
Suddenly we were learning:
- Marketing
- ROI analysis
- Business operations
- Community outreach
- Event planning
- Financial management
It became a crash course in entrepreneurship.
One thing we were especially proud of was seeing that many of our new clients came through referrals and word of mouth.
That means the relationships, results, and trust we built throughout the year truly mattered.
Building Community in Culver City
Another major highlight was becoming part of the Culver City community.
Living in Los Angeles can sometimes feel disconnected, so becoming involved locally was really meaningful.
We joined the Chamber of Commerce, attended community events, hosted parties, participated in local panels, and even participated in discussions with city leadership.
It made us feel connected to something much bigger than just aesthetics.
Conferences, Education & Advanced Training
2025 was also a huge year for education.
We attended several major conferences and trainings throughout the year, including:
- LAMCA
- The Peptide Conference in Las Vegas
- The Cupid Symposium in Beverly Hills
- Advanced injector trainings
We had opportunities to train with and learn from some of the top educators and injectors in aesthetics.
We also continued training with Dr. Kayvon Karimi, our medical director, who remains deeply involved in regenerative medicine and advanced aesthetics.
Education never stops in this field, which is one of the reasons aesthetics is so exciting.
The Rise of Peptides & Functional Medicine
One major trend throughout 2025 was the growing interest in peptides, wellness, and functional medicine.
More people are becoming interested in preventative wellness and improving overall healthspan — not just lifespan.
That includes:
- Peptides
- Microneedling
- Regenerative treatments
- Cellular health
- Preventative medicine
- Naturopathic approaches
We spent a lot of time behind the scenes learning about these therapies and exploring how they may eventually fit into Rewind’s future.
New Products & Treatments
2025 also brought several exciting additions to the practice.
We introduced:
- IS Clinical skincare
- Ourself skincare products
- New neurotoxins
- Additional regenerative treatments
Ourself’s brightening serum quickly became a team favorite because of its multitasking benefits and impressive results.
We also expanded events throughout the year, including:
- Pilates events
- Sculptra events
- Holiday parties
- Our one-year anniversary celebration
Partnering with other small businesses in Culver City made those events especially meaningful.
The Los Angeles Fires
One of the hardest parts of the year was the devastating fires in Los Angeles.
Many people throughout LA were directly affected, including clients, friends, and even our medical director.
Several evacuations took place, and the experience felt surreal for many residents.
It was emotionally difficult watching entire communities impacted by the fires.
During that time, we accelerated the launch of our IV therapy services in order to support first responders and firefighters however we could.
We also worked with skincare companies like Alastin, which generously donated full skincare regimens to clients affected by the fires.
Even small acts of support felt meaningful during such a difficult time.
The Flood at Rewind
Another unforgettable challenge happened later in the year when heavy rains caused Rewind to flood.
Several inches of water filled the spa, covering floors, rugs, and treatment areas.
At the time, Shannon was across the country attending a family wedding, leaving the rest of the team to manage the emergency.
Our team came together immediately.
For hours, everyone worked nonstop using vacuums, towels, and squeegees to remove water, protect equipment, and clean the space.
It became one of those moments that reminded us how strong our team really is.
Despite the chaos, the spa was back up and running quickly thanks to everyone working together.
2026 Goals & Resolutions
As we move into the new year, everyone has slightly different goals.

Final Thoughts
Looking back, 2025 was an incredible year filled with growth, challenges, education, friendships, and unforgettable experiences.
Opening and building Rewind taught us far more than we ever expected, both personally and professionally.
Most importantly, we’re incredibly grateful for our clients, our team, and everyone who supported us throughout our first year.
We can’t wait to see what 2026 brings.
Thanks for watching the Rewind Report, and Happy New Year.
