The Rewind Report: If You Could Only Choose One Aesthetic Treatment…
Welcome back to the Rewind Report!
Today we’re doing something a little different. Instead of discussing a specific treatment or skincare topic, we’re answering a fun hypothetical question.
If you could start with a completely blank slate—no Botox, no filler, no microneedling, no skincare treatments—and you could only choose one aesthetic treatment to have for an entire month, what would it be?
It’s a tougher question than you might think.
The Inspiration Behind the Question
The conversation started after talking about reality competition shows like Survivor and The Traitors.
One fun fact that came up was that Megan actually auditioned for Survivor after watching more than 40 seasons of the show.
With a background in nursing, collegiate athletics, and a competitive personality, she felt she’d be a great contestant—although surviving on only rice every day might have been the biggest challenge.
That led to today’s hypothetical scenario:
If you were stuck in a castle (or on an island) for a month and could only choose one aesthetic treatment, what would it be?
Choice #1: Neurotoxin (Dysport®)
The first answer came immediately:
Dysport®.
The idea was simple—if only one treatment could be chosen, why not relax the muscles responsible for wrinkles while also creating a lifted, refreshed appearance?
A full-face neurotoxin treatment could address areas including:
- Forehead lines
- Frown lines
- Crow’s feet
- Jawline slimming
- Neck rejuvenation
For someone who loves the look of a smooth forehead, lifted brows, and a sculpted jawline, neurotoxin was an easy first choice.
Choice #2: Sofwave™
The next choice took a much longer-term approach.
Instead of choosing a treatment with immediate cosmetic benefits, the focus shifted toward collagen production and prevention.
Sofwave™ was selected because it stimulates collagen production deep within the skin and continues improving skin quality long after treatment.
Reasons for choosing Sofwave included:
- Long-lasting collagen stimulation
- Preventative anti-aging benefits
- Minimal downtime
- Skin tightening over time
Rather than focusing only on looking better during that one month, the goal would be investing in healthier skin for years to come.
It’s also one of the more expensive treatments available, making the hypothetical “free treatment” even more appealing.
Choice #3: Microneedling
The third favorite was microneedling.
Although neurotoxin was tempting, microneedling ultimately won because of its combination of immediate and long-term benefits.
Microneedling helps stimulate collagen production while improving:
- Skin texture
- Skin tone
- Radiance
- Overall skin quality
- Fine lines
One of the biggest advantages is that collagen production continues for several weeks following treatment.
Patients also enjoy a noticeable glow once the skin has healed, making microneedling one of the team’s favorite preventative anti-aging treatments.
What About Sculptra®?
Interestingly, everyone agreed that Sculptra® deserved honorable mention.
Sculptra is one of the team’s favorite regenerative treatments because it stimulates natural collagen production over time.
Ultimately, it wasn’t chosen simply because the full results typically take two to three months to develop.
If the goal is maximizing results within a single month, treatments with more immediate visible benefits tend to have the advantage.
Why Microneedling Remains a Favorite
Throughout the discussion, microneedling continued to stand out as one of the most valuable treatments for long-term skin health.
Benefits include:
- Natural collagen production
- Brighter complexion
- Improved skin texture
- Reduced appearance of fine lines
- Minimal downtime
Consistent microneedling treatments remain one of the best investments patients can make for preventative aging and overall skin quality.
Who Would Win Survivor?
Of course, the conversation eventually circled back to reality television.
The team joked about who would actually win Survivor.
Between competitive personalities, wilderness survival skills, bug tolerance—or lack thereof—and team spirit, everyone had their own strengths.
Some claimed they’d dominate the physical competitions, while others admitted they’d rather be the team’s biggest cheerleader than the final survivor.
One thing everyone agreed on: bugs would definitely make the challenge much harder.
Final Thoughts
If you could only choose one aesthetic treatment, which would it be?
Would you prioritize wrinkle prevention with neurotoxin, long-term collagen stimulation with Sofwave, skin rejuvenation through microneedling, or regenerative treatments like Sculptra?
Every treatment has its strengths, and the best choice ultimately depends on your goals, your skin, and what matters most to you.
